Bow Work

Over time, the horsehair on your bow wears out, stretches, and loses its grip.

Regularly rehairing your bow with high quality horsehair is a part of maintaining your equipment so that it will deliver its best sound and performance every time you play.

It is recommended that you have your bow rehaired every 4-6 months for professional players, and at least once a year for student and casual musicians.

Bow Rehair: $100

Karen has received training in bow work from master bowmakers Rodney Mohr and David Orlin at Learning Trade Secrets lutherie school in Ashland, Ohio.

Standard bow service includes cleaning, polishing, and installation of premium quality horsehair.

A variety of colors and textures of premium bow hair is available, including fine and course white, chestnut, sorrel, black, salt & pepper.

We also have color-dyed hair (purple, pink, red, green, or blue) for students and teachers that would like a fun pop of color on their bow!

We also offer rosin consulations for players interested in upgrading their rosin to get the most out of their bow hair.
